The prices of domestic and commercial gas cylinders are revised on the first day of every month. But domestic cooking gas cylinder prices remained unchanged for the last three months due to three state elections.
Now, after the elections in those states, the Union BJP government has increased the price of a 14.2 kg cooking gas cylinder for household use by Rs.50 and a 19 kg gas cylinder for commercial use by Rs.350.50.
The increase in prices has caused agony for women who burn stoves with cooking gas. When the price of cylinder has already gone up several times, they have increased the price of cylinder again and again and put the burden on people's heads. It is not fair in any way that the Union Government has increased the price of cooking gas when the prices of essential commodities are already increasing continuously due to the increase in petrol and diesel prices.
This rise in prices has fallen on the heads of the common people in an environment where the common poor and middle class are struggling to survive due to increasing unemployment, poverty and inflation. Union government has deceived the people of the country. This price hike is tantamount to pouring oil on a burning fire and hitting the stomach of the poor and the middle class.
Under the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana scheme, they provide only 7 cylinders on an average, despite the opportunity to purchase 12 cylinders per year. Henceforth this number will also decrease. The Union Government does not fully provide the subsidy amount for cooking gas.
Therefore, the request of the people of the country, especially the housewives, is to immediately withdraw the increase in the price of cooking gas cylinders which affects the poor and middle class people. Will the Union BJP government listen?
