Isha plans to plant 1.20 cr Saplings in TN this year

Isha Foundation, under its Cauvery Calling movement, has started a tree planting festival in the lands of 146 farmers in 37 districts across Tamil Nadu this year.  

Farmers will plant 2,10,000  trees under the project.
Vana Mogotsavam is celebrated every year in the first week of July to create environmental awareness across India and to encourage people to plant trees. 

 In view of this, on behalf of the Kaveri Kookural movement, the events of planting saplings in agricultural lands have been started on July 1 across Tamil Nadu.The Kaveri Kookural Movement, which works to improve the economy of farmers along with the objectives of environmental improvement, soil development, river restoration, is providing valuable timber tree saplings to farmers at a low price of Rs.3.  Trees such as teak, semmaram, sandalwood, banyan, neem, yellow kadambu, rosewood are planted in agricultural lands.
 

Not only on special days like Vana Magotsavam but also on the anniversary and birthdays of environmentalists like Nammalwar, Nel Jayaraman, Maram Thangaswamy, who worked for the soil, Kaveri Kookural is promoting tree planting work on a large scale. 

This year, in Tamil Nadu alone, 1.20 cr saplings will be produced and planted in agricultural lands.
In this regard, the field workers of Kaveri Kookural are going directly to the lands of the farmers 
all over Tamil Nadu, examining the nature of the soil, water quality etc.Isha Kaveri Kookural conducts trainings on tree-based agriculture to encourage farmers to grow trees.
