IT dept holds outreach program on e-verification

The IT department's outreach program was held at the  Sri Ramakrishna College of Arts & Science in Coimbatore.

 It was primarily designed to focus on how to avail of the e-verification Scheme, 2021, introduced by the Income Tax Department. The discussion also centered around various provisions related to availing deductions under Section 80P of the Income Tax Act, 1961, by Cooperative Societies, particularly with reference to the Primary Agricultural Cooperative Credit Societies, Housing Societies, and Handloom Societies.

The meeting aimed to encourage Cooperative Societies to audit their accounts in a timely manner and file their Income Tax Returns within the prescribed time limit to take advantage of the tax benefits available under the Income Tax Act, 1961. Approximately 434 participants from Cooperative Societies attended and benefited from the awareness Program.

The program was conducted by Smt.Bhuvaneshwari, Income Tax Officer, Intelligence and Criminal Investigation, Coimbatore, in the presence of Shri V. Rajasekaran, Assistant Director of Income Tax (I & CI), Chennai, Shri S. Subramanian, Income Tax Officer (I & CI), Trichy, Shri N.Soundararajan, Inspector of Income Tax, Chennai, Shri. Vijayaganesh, Mrs.Swetha, and, Shri Franklin Deputy Registrars of Cooperative Societies. Shri S. Kumaravel, Auditor of Tax Cooperative Societies, Coimbatore, were the special guest at the event.
