The Media Club of Kathir College of Arts and Science recently organised an exhilarating interdepartmental Multimedia Competition titled ‘Make a Frame and Become a Fame.’ This event saw participation from various department students, all eager to showcase their exceptional skills in a variety of multimedia disciplines, including photography, short film, content video, and news explanation.
Participants demonstrated remarkable creativity and technical prowess during the competition, making the process of evaluation both challenging and rewarding for the judges. After a thorough and careful assessment, two standout entries were identified for their excellence.
Karuppusamy K and his team from 2nd BBA (CA) were awarded for their compelling short film titled ‘Women’s Concern,’ which effectively addressed important social issues surrounding women's rights and safety. Additionally, Limelkavinesh of 2nd B.Sc (CS) was recognised for his stunning macrophotography work, which captivated the judges with its intricate details and aesthetic appeal.
The event was further enriched by an interactive session with the crew of the movie "Sathur." This session provided an invaluable opportunity for aspiring filmmakers and multimedia enthusiasts to gain insights and advice from industry professionals. Participants were able to engage in a candid dialogue with the crew, discussing various aspects of filmmaking, challenges faced during production, and the intricacies of visual storytelling.
Adding to the excitement, the prize distribution ceremony was graced by the presence of A Augustin Prabu, the director of the movie “Sathur”. Augustin Prabu personally distributed the prizes to the winners and encouraged all participants to continue pursuing their creative endeavours.
The event was presided over by Dr. R Karpagam, the Principal of Kathir College of Arts and Science, who praised the students for their outstanding performances and emphasised the college’s commitment to supporting and encouraging artistic talent.
The multimedia competition not only showcased the diverse talents of Kathir College students but also reinforced the institution’s role as a nurturing ground for future media and creative professionals.
