The oncology department of KMCH has organized for a national level conference on 30th and 31st March 2024. The event was held in Le Meridien, Coimbatore.
The program which was titled as “Practice changing updates in Oncology” featured the latest updates in the field of cancer treatment. Around 150 medical oncologists from across the country participated in the program and several updates in the previous years were discussed.
The program also had a parallel session in Radiation Oncology. Students and young practitioners participated in a hybrid webinar. There were international speakers and nearly 200 participants joined the meeting online and nearly 100 radiation oncologists from India participated in the meet. The theme for this session was gastroenterological cancers since the incidence of GI cancers is on the rise following lifestyle changes.
On March 31st there was an exclusive session on Pediatric oncology which was managed by Dr. Rumesh Chandar, Pediatric Oncologist, KMCH.
Dr. Arun Palaniswami – Executive Director of KMCH welcomed the delegates and visitors. Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Nalla G. Palaniswami – Chairman of KMCH highlighted the role played by the cancer center of KMCH, in alleviating the suffering of patients. Conferences like this would equip the doctors to offer better treatment to patients, he further added.
