KMCH inaugurates Acute Liver Failure Unit

Having adopted and continuously improvised on these state-of-the art medical advances in acute liver failure since 2019, KMCH has decided to take the management of these diseases to the next level by opening up a dedicated intensive care unit fully equipped with gadgets, facilities, highly trained staff and a team of experts include hepatologists, intensivists, nephrologists, anaesthesiologists and liver transplant surgeons. 
It is only apt that this facility dedicated to curing acute liver failure patients was inaugurated and dedicated to the public utility coinciding with World Liver Day celebrated on April 18th. KMCH had organised a function with the aim of spreading the awareness among the public as how to prevent, diagnose and rush for early treatment for acute liver failure.
Mr. Sudhakar, IPS, Inspector General of Police, West Zone, Coimbatore  inaugurated the liver unit in the presence of Dr. Nalla G. Palaniswami, Chairman & Managing Director, KMCH.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Nalla G. Palaniswami said that the dedicated KMCH Liver Unit has the most experience in handling these acute liver failure patients in the Western TN. He congratulated the liver team, which has a combined experience of more than 1000 successful liver transplants amongst them, for consistently maintaining the success rate of this technically challenging procedure on par with world standards.
