Mr. Peters L.Y. Chen, Assistant Representative Director, Education Division of Taiwan’s Taipei Economic and Cultural Center in India, visited Stanes School, Coimbatore, at 11 a.m. on Thursday.
Mr. Chen currently bridges bilateral cooperation by setting up Taiwan Education Centers (TECs) at campuses in India to promote Mandarin education and scholarships.
So far, TECC has inked Memorandum of Understandings (MoUs) with numerous reputed educational institutions in India including well-known universities and set up 23 TECs.
With the spurt in growth of the manufacturing industries involving a major number of Taiwanese personnel, the need to bridge the communication gap is very essential.
Courses offering students/professionals scope to learn new languages was considered to be very lucrative, he said.
