Land retrieval rally planned on June 20

Samuganeedhi Makkal Katchi will hold a rally at Arachalur on June 20 to press the government to distribute boodhan lands to poor at Vadugapatti in the area, said the party president Vadivel Raman.
In a release, he said nearly 50 years back, 1000 acres were given to dalits and poor farmers (2 to 5 acre each) in the village under the Boomidhana Board and Nila Kudiyetra Sangam. But the beneficiaries sold out or leased out the lands  as against the government norms. As per the norm, only the original land owners and their legal heirs were eligible to use the land. But, they lost their right on the lands. So, following a stir last year, the officials conducted a study. The DRO also ordered on 22.9.2021 about retrieval of the lands and distribution of them to poor as per the government order. So, to press the government to appoint an officer to retrieve the land and distribute them to the landless poor, the rally is going to be held.
