If you have flu, it could be a new type of virus. Named as H3N2, this new virus that has been spreading rapidly across the country recently affects all groups including children, adults and the elderly.
Is this virus dangerous? Need to be afraid of that? How to protect yourself from being infected with the virus? What to do if you get a viral infection? The Indian Council of Medical Research has given a detailed explanation.
This virus, which is spreading rapidly in India with symptoms similar to Corona, has emerged as a new challenge that causes respiratory problems in many people as the H3N2 virus.
What are the symptoms of this virus? Fever, cough, nausea/vomiting, sore throat, body aches/fatigue, diarrhea. With the above symptoms, shortness of breath, difficulty in breathing, severe fever that does not go away, pain in the chest, inability to eat anything, dizziness, convulsions etc. should be known and treated immediately.
ICMR According to studies, immune compromised people, especially children, the elderly, and those with co-morbidities are more likely to be exposed to the H3N2 virus. Oxygen levels should be checked with a pulse oximeter.
If necessary, you should immediately consult a doctor without delay and get treatment. It is dangerous to self-medicate and waste precious time. Children and the elderly should see a doctor as soon as they develop a fever and cough. As it is a viral infection, prescribing antibiotics to kill bacteria is not effective, advises the Indian Medical Association.
People without symptoms of H3N2 virus exposure should wash their hands frequently with soap and water. Wearing a face mask is mandatory. Avoid crowded places. Cover your mouth and nose when you cough or sneeze. Avoid touching the eyes and nose. Drink plenty of water and fluids There should be no handshakes or any other form of physical exchange of greetings. Do not spit in public places. Do not take antibiotics or other medicines without a doctor's prescription.
Do not sit close together with others and eat. Almost the same restrictions that we followed when the spread of Corona was high have been recommended for this viral fever. The corona virus is not completely gone from us yet. Let's get rid of the H3N2 virus by being a little careful!
