The world has heard a lot about both Hamas and the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE). On October 8, 1997, the US labeled both of these groups as Foreign Terrorist Organizations. In the middle of 2009, the LTTE and its leadership were destroyed by the Sri Lankan military.
In the process, thousands of Tamil people also perished. Like the LTTE, Hamas is subject to severe limitations yet has a clear objective. It can also occasionally strategically reposition itself. The Hamas group has acted strategically toward Israel in a similar manner to how the Tigers have occasionally acted toward Colombo. Additionally, Israel and Hamas have worked together to erode the Palestinian Authority.
Israel let Gazans to work there. However, Hamas remained steadfast in its opposition to Israel notwithstanding the decision. On October 7, Hamas scared Israel with hundreds of missiles fired from Gaza at once. Israel is dealing the blow instead. On both sides, there were significant casualties. Regarding the on-going Israel-Hamas conflict, Hamas has requested that the Palestinians remain in Gaza without inflating Israel's threat that they should relocate south.
This is comparable to how the LTTE operates. Although there are distinctions, the LTTE and Hamas procedures are comparable. The LTTE no longer feels secure in its geopolitical position. Not in the case of Hamas. Hamas is a more potent leader than the Tigers. Will the conflict end shortly, even if Israel is winning the fight right now?It seems unlikely. The idea that Hamas wants to destroy Israel is improbable. Will Israel succeed in its objective of getting rid of all Palestinian resistance at the same time?
In 2023 and 2024, what befell the LTTE in 2009 will also befall Hamas. Will the war Between Russia and Ukraine continue? Or will the conflict finish before all sides have achieved their goals? All we can do is wait and watch!
