Mark Zuckerberg announces the launch of WhatsApp Channels

WhatsApp has launched WhatsApp Channels, a private way to receive updates from people and organizations within WhatsApp. Mark Zuckerberg, BCCI, Katrina Kaif, Vijay Deverakonda, DiljitDosanjh, and others have launched their own channels. WhatsApp aims to build the most private broadcast service available and protects personal information of both admins and followers. 

Channels are separate from chats and will be rolled out globally over the next few weeks. WhatsApp will continue to add more features and expand Channels based on feedback. Anyone can also create a channel. The Indian Cricket team has partnered with WhatsApp to provide accurate information and news around match schedules, timings, scorecards, etc.
