PSGR Krishnammal College for Women (PSGRKCW) and Siruthuli organization, in collaboration with PM SHRI Kendriya Vidyalaya School, Sowripalayam, Coimbatore, organized a tree planting drive titled ‘KCW Vanam’ – Miyawaki Method, in the school’s premises today. Ms. Vanitha Mohan, Managing Trustee, Siruthuli and Dr. R. Nandini, Chairperson, KCW, were the Guests of Honour on the occasion. Dr. N. Yeshodha Devi, Secretary, KCW, Ms. Bhanumathy, Principal of PM SHRI Kendriya Vidyalaya School and Ms. G. Kalavathi, Dean, Vocational Programmes, KCW, were also present on the occasion.
Addressing the gathering Ms. Vanitha Mohan appreciated the efforts of KCW and PM SHRI Kendriya Vidyalaya School for successful conduct of the event.
Ms. Vanitha Mohan pointed out that trees are not only important for oxygen, but are also home to birds, apart from acting as a natural rainwater harvesting system.
Dr. Nandini in her address mentioned that the students have not just planted trees but have sowed the seeds for a sustainable future. She emphasized that each tree we plant affirms our commitment to our planet.
She stated that the goal of the initiative was to not only benefit the current generation but also to ensure that the future generations too live a happy and healthy life.
Ms. Bhanumathy in here address mentioned that the tree planting initiative will help foster a culture of sustainability in the students.
