Mata Amritanandamayi participates in the two-day Brahmasthanam temple festival

The two-day Brahmasthanam Temple Festival at Nallampalayam concluded on Sunday, with Sri Mata Amritanandamayi Devi (Amma) delivering a powerful message on interconnection, responsibility, and transformation. The festival, celebrating the 24th anniversary of the temple’s consecration, drew thousands of devotees eager to receive Amma’s blessings during her first visit to the city in several years.
In her satsang, Amma spoke about the interconnectedness of all beings and the impact of human actions. “There is a rhythm to everything in creation. We are not individual islands but links in a common chain. If we wait for others to change, nothing will ever happen. We should try to change first, and others will follow our example,” she said.
Amma also emphasised the importance of compassion in modern society, stating, “Love is the true wealth of life, and its absence is the greatest loss. Compassion is not a luxury but a necessity for the survival of society.”
The festival’s second day featured a mass Rahu Puja, attended by hundreds. Amma arrived at 11 AM and was welcomed by dignitaries, including MLAs PRG Arunkumar and Amman K Arjunan, Income Tax Commissioner Dr. Senthilkumar IRS, and former Minister
Velumani.
Clothes and seed funding were distributed to Amrita SREE women self-help groups, followed by meditation sessions, bhajans, and Amma’s darshan, which continued into the early hours of Monday.
