Coimbatore Corporation Commissioner Sivaguru Prabakran conducted a consultation meeting on June 7 with the heads of 83 primary schools and 37 middle schools at the Corporation Kalaiarangam. The focus was on the preparedness and measures to be taken before schools reopen on June 10. Schools in Tamil Nadu are currently engaged in cleaning and renovation activities.
The review meeting included discussions on essential preparations such as classroom readiness, ensuring that classrooms are cleaned and organised. The availability of books and readiness for co-curricular activities were also reviewed. Additionally, the meeting addressed the cleanliness and readiness of school transportation vehicles, as well as the cleanliness and safety of school premises. The hygiene of food dispensing rooms was also a key topic of discussion.
Commissioner Prabakran shared insights on strategies to increase school admissions, emphasising the importance of a clean and well-prepared environment for students' return.
