Min. condemns Gov for his speech

Higher education minister Ponmudi on Monday condemned the Governor’s remarks regarding freedom fighters.
Speaking to reporters at the secretariat, he said, “It is funny to see the statements of Governor RN Ravi who has been refusing to give his assent to award senior communist leader N Sankaraiah with honorary doctorate, related to freedom fighters. At least, after this, he should be considerate and give his nod to award honorary doctorate to  Sankaraiah  if he is really concerned about freedom fighters. Students should participate in protests against NEET.”
Tamil Nadu is a holy place and it does have place for Dravidian and Aryan ideologies. It is to separate and rule India, people including Robert Caldwell were sent to the country. People who observed Independence as a black day are in the state and they are trying to remove the memories of freedom fighters from the public's mind.
By identifying freedom fighters with their caste, they are trying to separate people. Due respect is not given to them,” said the governor.
Various political leaders have been condemning the governor for his speech.
