Minister attends Corpn Area Sabha Meeting

Erode Municipal Corporation held Zone II public grievance meeting at ward 9 of  SSP Nagar on Tuesday. Housing Minister S. Muthusamy participated in the event and received petitions from the public. 
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister has declared every November 1st as Local Bodies Day. Already in gram panchayats four gram sabha meetings are held every year.

On that model,  ward level meetings will be held in all  urban areas and rural areas on Nov 1 hereafter. Accordingly, the first meeting was held today in SSP Nagar.  In his speech, the minister said that the corporation administration will come to the people, listen their  grievances and take appropriate action in the meeting. Despite the lack of funds in the corporation, facilities such as roads, street lights and sewers are gradually being built. 

The roads were in poor condition in many areas due to  various project works. They must be speedily laid. After a month, he will review the action taken on the public petitions received in the present meeting.  The problems mentioned by the public should be attended by officials within time frame.  Thecpublic should also provide sufficient cooperation to corporation by not throwing garbage on the streets and drains. 

In this area alone, various project works worth about one crore are going on. Every day, thecCM reviewed progress in every sector.  He okayed 85 development projects for Erode district, he added. Corporation Mayor Nagarathanam Subramaniam, Commissioner Sivakumar, councilors and  high officials also attended the meeting.
