Minister declares open John Sullivan Park at Ooty

Agriculture Minister MRK Panneerselvam declared open John Sullivan Park in the presence of Minister of Tourism Mr. K. Ramachandran.
He said  in memory of John Sullivan who played a major role in building the Nilgiris district and introduced hill garden crops to the Nilgiris, since the park was established.
The park has a grass floor, an artificial water fountain and various types of flowering plants and ornamental plants. 
The park has a children's play area and parking for vehicles. 
Also, the ground opposite Uthagai Municipality, and Central Bus Stand has been restored by the Revenue Department and maintained by the Horticulture Department. Out of the total area of ​​53 acres here, 7 acres of wetlands have been protected. 
Commissioner of Agricultural Production and Principal Secretary to Government Ms. Apoorva, Commissioner, Agricultural Sales - Agribusiness Department and Principal Secretary to Government Mr.K  Prakash, Director of Horticulture and Hill Crops Department Mr. B. Kumaravel Pandian, Director of Agriculture Mr. Pa. Murukesh, District Collector Mrs. Lakshmi Bhavya Nadyatu, former Government Whip Mr. Mubarak, and many officials attended the function.
