Minister distributes Rs 37.35 cr loan to 388 SHGs at Ooty

On behalf of Rural Development and Panchayat Department and Mahalir Thittam, Minister of Tourism Mr. K. Ramachandran distributed Rs 37.35 cr bank loan to 
766 beneficiaries belonging to 388 Women Self Help Groups at a function held at Ooty on Monday following Youth Welfare and Sports Development Minister Mr. Udayanidhi Stalin,  inaugurated the work of providing bank loans worth Rs.2,735 crore to women self-help groups across Tamil Nadu at a function held at Madurai. District Collector Mrs. Lakshmi Bhavya Thanneeru presided.
 On this occasion, the Minister said:  Taking the Women Self Help Groups to the Next Level, late CM Kalaignar implemented many schemes. As such, the Chief Minister MK Stalin waived the loans of women's self-help groups when he assumed power. Various loans are being provided by the government with the aim that women should progress at par with men. Women self help groups who get loans can start any business to come up in life, he advised.
