Dairy minister Mano Thangaraj on Friday inaugurated a training workshop of Mission white wave during an event organized at Rathinam college in the district.
Speaking to media persons, the minister said that an action plan has been formulated to provide loans to all milk producers for purchasing livestock, and to convert all the milk producers and the 9,120 cooperative societies in the state into profit-making societies.
He said that more than 1,000 new milk producers' societies have been started in the past four years and that this has created an environment where more than one lakh farmers can benefit.
Furthermore, to improve non-functioning societies into profit-earning societies, MBA students will be selected and trained, and actions will be taken to improve them through the “Mission White Wave” scheme, he said, adding that, under this scheme, those students will travel with the societies for three months.
He said that when this scheme succeeds, all societies in the state will function profitably, resulting in increased milk production, increased service to farmers, and increased sales of Aavin products.
He also stated that the Chief Minister has instructed and emphasized expanding Aavin product outlets in rural areas and that the expansion can be seen in a few months. He said that soon, efforts will be made to start Aavin product outlets in rural areas.
Regarding the currently launched scheme, he stated that apart from engineering students, all interested individuals can participate and it will be very beneficial for them.
Speaking about AI technology, Mano Thangaraj said that when social media came, it had both good and bad sides, and that everything depends on how it is used. He pointed out that AI is the product of human intelligence and if used in a useful way, it is good. He said the human brain is very powerful, and that we have not yet discovered its full potential, adding that AI is the product of the human mind.
To a question about Naam Tamilar Katchi coordinator Seeman announcing that he would protest with goats and cows, the Minister responded that Seeman is only seeing one side of the coin and that several actions are being taken in this sector. He emphasized that those who criticize should do so with an honest mind and should also mention good things, and that these are all political criticisms.
