Minister inspects development works

Minister of Tourism K. Ramachandran inspected the development work in the Utagai Boathouse on Thursday. District Collector M. Aruna presided over the event.

Later, he told pressmen: It is decided to introduce a signpost for the convenience of tourists visiting Utkai Boat House in the Nilgiri District, remove encroachments on the boat house footpath which is obstructing the tourists and use the footpath for tourists, and  provide an alternative place for those who are riding horses on the boat house road near Honeymoon Boat House or elsewhere. The Department was advised in this regard.

He informed the officials concerned have been instructed to speedily complete the construction work of the adventure games in the boat house before the summer vacation. During this inspection, Deputy Commissioner (Excise) Utkai RDO Sathees, DSP Yasoda, Tamil Nadu Tourism Development Corporation Zonal Manager Guneswaran, Utakai Boat House Manager Samson and many government officials were present.
