Tourism Minister K Ramachandran and Nilgiris MP A Raja visited the family of Gunasekaran, a boy who tragically drowned in Ponnani Lake while fishing. Following the Chief Minister's orders, the minister and the MP paid their respects and provided the family with a welfare fund totaling Rs. 4 lakhs, including Rs. 3 lakhs from the Chief Minister’s fund and Rs. 1 lakh from their personal contributions.
Speaking to the media, MP A Raja stated, “As per the Chief Minister's directive, we have provided a relief fund to the family of the boy who lost his life while fishing. Additionally, we offered a relief fund of Rs. 1 lakh to the family of another young boy who is currently missing. We also inspected the residential buildings in Gudalur that have developed cracks due to heavy rains. Measures are being taken to address and improve the situation.”
The inspection was attended by District Collector Lakshmi Bhavya Thanneru, Additional Collector Koushik, Additional Superintendent of Police Soundararajan, Gudalur Revenue Officer Senthil Kumar, and other government officials.
