Minister M Subramanian inaugurates ward rooms at Pollachi hospital

Minister of Health and Family Welfare M Subramanian inaugurated and reviewed the new patient ward pay rooms at the Government Hospital in Pollachi, constructed at a cost of Rs. 72 lakhs on June 9. The event saw the participation of Coimbatore Collector Kranthi Kumar Pati, Member of Parliament K Eswara Swamy, and several government officials.

Speaking to the media, Minister Subramanian highlighted the success of the Makkalai Thedi Maruthuvam scheme, which has significantly improved home-based healthcare in Tamil Nadu, benefiting over 1 crore people. He noted that the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has received numerous requests from other countries seeking to understand and implement this scheme.

The minister also mentioned the substantial increase in outpatient visits to government hospitals over the past three years, indicating that the public is effectively utilising these services. He emphasised the ongoing development of medical infrastructure in Coimbatore, with 39 buildings under construction at a cost of Rs. 22.04 crores.
