Minister for Health and Family Welfare M. Subramanian inspected the under-construction government hospital in Velampalayam, Tiruppur, on August 11.
The hospital, initially planned to have 86 beds, is now being expanded to a 100-bed facility with a budget of Rs. 47 crores, funded by the Japan Cultural Co-operative Agency.
Speaking to the media, Minister Subramanian said, “We inspected the construction of the government hospital at Velampalayam. This hospital is being constructed with the help of financial funding of Rs. 47 crores from the Japan Cultural Co-operative Agency.”
He added that the hospital would be equipped with technologically advanced tools and equipment to provide high-quality medical care.
The inspection was attended by Tiruppur Collector T Christuraj, Tiruppur MLA (South) Selvaraj, Tiruppur Mayor Dinesh Kumar, Tiruppur Corporation Commissioner Pawankumar G Giriyappanavar, Government Hospital and College President Murugesan, Deputy Mayor Balasubramaniam, Municipal Welfare Officer Gowri Shankar, District Health Officer Murali Shankar, and other officials.
