Minister of Information and Publicity MP Saminathan flagged off vehicles carrying relief materials for flood-affected Villupuram from the Kangayam Tahsildar office on December 4. The event was attended by Tiruppur Collector T. Christuraj and other officials.
The relief effort comes in response to the extensive damage caused by Cyclone Fengal in Villupuram. Districts across Tamil Nadu have been sending aid to assist the affected population. The flagged-off vehicles carried essential supplies, including 5 kg rice bags, 1 kg sugar packets, 500 gm rava packets, 500 gm wheat packets, 100 gm turmeric packets, 100 gm chili powder packets, and 100 gm sambar powder packets, among other items.
Tiruppur Revenue  Divisional Officer Karthikeyan, Kangeyam Tahsildar Mohan, and other government officials participated in the event to oversee the dispatch of the relief materials. The initiative is part of ongoing efforts to support recovery in the cyclone-hit district.
