Minister refutes EPS charge on Coimbatore master plan

Minister refutes EPS charge on Coimbatore master plan

Housing and urban development Minister S Muthusamy denied the charges of opposition leader EPS that the Coimbatore second master plan would lead to several corrupt practices.
The minister distributed government benefits at the Ungaludan Stalin camp at Vellodu on Thursday.
When his attention was drawn on EPS charge that land classification under the master plan could lead to various malpractices, the minister said that the land classification would only help people if their lands come under the specific zones-industrial, residential, agricultural and commercial etc without spending much for getting such land  classification conversion details.
In some places, some opposed the master plan only because of that their lands would be taken away for roads.
EPS wanted that the land conversion should be done after hearing public view. Already the district collector heard the public view for many months and only on the basis of public view alone the land conversion was made and the master plan was prepared.
In Erode and some other coties also also, public view was sought by the DTCP to prepare the master plan. They would be released after getting public suggestions, he added.
DMK block secretary Sengottaiyan, Perundurai tahsildars Jagannathan, Balakumar and officials were present.
