Minister Senthil Balaji, the Tamil Nadu Minister of Electricity and in-charge of Coimbatore District, inspected rain-affected areas in Coimbatore following days of heavy rainfall.
Flooding and drainage issues have impacted various parts of the district, and the local administration, along with the municipal corporation, is working on repairs.
During his visit, the Minister inspected drainage clearing works in the Kathiravan Garden area near Singanallur. Responding to residents' requests, who had asked him to assess the situation, the Minister observed the waterlogged streets and drainage problems affecting homes.
Locals urged him to improve the roads, maintain the drains, and prevent water from entering residential areas.
Minister Senthil Balaji directed officials to address the residents' concerns immediately. Coimbatore District Collector Kranthi Kumar Pati, Corporation Commissioner Sivaguru Prabakaran, and other officials accompanied him during the inspection.
