Housing Minister S.Muthusamy and Health Minister M.Subramaniam inaugurated 20 paid bed rooms at the Erode GH.
Later, Minister M. Subramaniam told reporters: Following Chennai, the rooms were opened in Coimbatore, Salem, Madurai and Erode. Paid bed rooms will be created in 14 places. It was said that 4 districts namely Erode, Kanyakumari, Ranipet and Tirupattur are affected by cancer. We started the cancer screening camp in these 4 districts on November 22 last year. In these 4 districts, we invited 9 lakh 82 thousand 334 people to come to the cancer screening camp and get tested. Out of which, 4 lakhs 19 thousand 143 people tested themselves. At the end of this examination, 13 thousand 89 people were diagnosed with suspected cancer. Of them, 176 were diagnosed with cancer. In Erode District, 3 lakh 29 thousand 473 people were invited for cancer screening. Of this, 1 lakh 27 thousand 11 people were tested at a cancer screening camp. 3 thousand 39 people were suspected. Of these, 50 were diagnosed with cancer. They are being treated continuously. The Chief Minister has ordered to carry out the test is in 38 districts across Tamil Nadu.
