MLA inaugurates Rs 30 lakh development work

Perundurai MLA S Jayakumar (AIADMK) and Chennimalai Union chairperson Gayathri Ilango inaugurated Rs 30 lakh development works including drainage, water supply and roads in Eengur and Sirukalanji panchayats in the union on Tuesday. 

COUNCILLORS WALK OUT: AIADMK councillors walked out of Perundurai town panchayat council meeting demanding unrestricted drinking water supply in the Perundurai area. 

The meeting was held on Tuesday under the chairmanship of OCV Rajendran.  AIADMK Councilors Arunachalam, Valarmati, Gomati and Punithavathi who participated in the meeting said previously Cauvery water was distributed once in 4 days.  Currently, it was distributed once in 8 to 10 days. 

They therefore demanded that the public be provided with unrestricted drinking water and alleged that there was no proper maintenance of drainage and street lights. 
They demanded regularization of sewer fees.  The DMK councillors also stressed the same demand.
