Yercaud MLA visited and reviewed the site proposed for building a post-mortem facility in Yercaud Government General Hospital. In Yercaud, which is known as the poor man's Ooty in Salem district, there are 9 panchayats, 70 villages and more than 50 thousand people living here. In times of accidents suicides, there is a situation where the bodies had to be taken to the Salem Government Hospital for examination. As a result, there was expenditure on transport, mental anguish and time.

In the last session of the Legislative Assembly, pointing out the absence of a physical examination center in Yercaud Government General Hospital, Yercaud Legislative Assembly Member K. Chithira suggested in the assembly to set up a modern physical examination center in Yercaud.
She visited the site in which the post-mortem facility has been proposed to be built. As another building is located on the side of the road, she suggested that a new building should be constructed on the existing site, as the public would be afraid to walk there.
