MLA's request to Central Ministers

Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and Union Textiles Minister Giriraj Singh  attended a workshop on improving cotton production held at the Sugarcane Research Institute of Coimbatore Agricultural University on behalf of the "Central Cotton Research Institute and Sugarcane Breeding Institute" and listened to the grievances of the farmers' association representatives. Modakkurichi MLA Dr. C. Saraswathi participated in the event and requested the Central Government to implement the following schemes for the welfare of farmers in Modakkurichi constituency and Erode district. 
Turmeric Spices Board in Modakkurichi constituency should be created,  Turmeric Speciality Center in the constituency be expanded, turmeric export  terminal be set up,  100% compensation be provided for crops damaged by elephants.
