MNM stages demonstration in Coimbatore

Makkal Needhi Maiam(MNM) cadres staged a demonstration in Coimbatore on Saturday condemning the central government for the hike in fuel prices. The demonstration also called on the state government to scrap the property tax hike in Tamil Nadu.

Opposition parties have been protesting against the central government for raising petrol, diesel prices and property taxes. As part of this, a protest was held on behalf of the Makkal Needhi Maiam. 

The protesters led by state vice-president Thangavelu raised slogans against the central and state governments. Protesters also demanded that the state government act without burdening the people. More than a hundred cadres and executives from Coimbatore and Pollachi attended the demonstration.

State President Thangavel, State Student Wing Secretary Rakesh, State Women's Wing Secretary Mookambikai, Zonal Media Division Secretary Ramya Venugopal, District Secretaries Thamburaj, SIDCO Siva, Prabhu, Manoramyan and Town Secretaries, Ward Secretaries, and other functionaries were present.
