Everything has been modernized in modern times. It is rare to find people without mobiles. It is becoming a situation where you can do all the things just by having a mobile phone in your hand.
Nowadays most people do not carry money in their hands. Instead, they use mobile phone apps like Google Pay and Phone Pay to make payments.
From small tea shops to large stores in malls, everyone has the facility to pay through their mobile, whether it's for small items.
People are used to this. In this context, Tamil Nadu Government has arranged payment through UPI facility in ration shops for the welfare of the people.
In that way, the Minister of Cooperatives had informed the assembly that the system of purchasing goods through digital transaction will soon be implemented in all the ration shops in Tamil Nadu. In this context, this service has now been introduced in Chennai.562 out of 588 fair price shops in Chennai, Ambattur and Avadi suburbs have implemented the procedure of receiving ration goods by paying through UPI from yesterday. It is reported that the rest of the stores will be implemented soon.
While the UPI payment service has been introduced for the convenience of the public, awareness slogans have been put up in ration shops under the name of 'Mobile Muthamma' to make people understand the digital transaction.
With a total of more than 1700 ration shops across the city of Chennai, the scheme is currently implemented in more than 1500 shops.
Following this, the Tamil Nadu Cooperative Department has informed that this project will soon be implemented throughout Tamil Nadu.
Thus, even though the public no longer has cash in their hands, they can pay through mobile phones. There is no doubt that the project will be well received by the public. Tamil Nadu is implementing various schemes as a pioneer for all states.
Likewise, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K.Stalin is a role model in introducing such modern facilities.
There is no doubt that other states will soon implement UPI payments at ration shops.
The Tamil Nadu government's continuous move to introduce new technology with time is commendable; Congratulations!
