More than 900 players participated in the Tamil Nadu open Karate championship that took place at the indoor stadium in PSG institute of technology in the city.
In the two-day long competitions that started on August 20, players aged between five and 18 years from various districts including Erode, Tirupur, Chennai and Madurai participated.
The competition was inaugurated by Gopalakrishnan, managing trustee of PSG institutions.
The winners of the competitions would take part in the National-level competition that is scheduled to take place in New Delhi in December.
In the valedictory function, college principal Prakasan, polytechnic principal Giriraj, deans Senthil Kumar, Arasu and Krishnammal, managing trustee of the educational trust Gopi Kumar and Karate association office bearers Neil Mosas, Paul Vickraman, Devaraj, Veeramani, Balasubramaniam and Rajkumar participated.
