Most buses ply in Erode

Most buses ply in Erode

As the transport workers' strike began on Tuesday morning, most of the buses were running in Erode zone.
As the Tamil Nadu Transport Department refused to accept the demands of the transport workers, the transport workers have continued their strike. As a result, government buses returned to the transport depots in Erode district. More than 700 government buses are operated from 13 depots in Erode TSTC zone. But, about 3,500 of the total 4,600 workers have participated in the strike and about 50 percent of the buses are not running, union sources said.
In this case, on Tuesday morning, more than 100 transport workers protested in front of the Erode and Gobi depot and protested by blocking the buses leaving the workshop saying that buses should not be operated.
But, buses left the workshop under police escort.
Officials of the State Transport Corporation said:
80 percent of the buses are plying in Erode zone. If the number of staff who have to come to work on Tuesday afternoon decreases, we are ready to choose temporary employees.
