Motor vehicle consultants plea to Collector

TN Motor Vehicle Consultants Welfare Association president Manjal Marimuthu submitted a petition to the Erode Collector on Monday seeking restoration of old system in the 2 wheeler registration in the event of resale. 
He said that if the owner of the vehicle didn't pay loan,  the financiers agencies seize the vehicle and give it to 2 wheeler consultants. 
When the consultants approached the Regional transport offices for name change, RC book was sent to the previous owner of the vehicle and their mobile no was also sought. 
There was also difficulty to see the fine amount before name change.  So, the name change process can be made in the place of obtaining FC as existed 
already.
Under the present process of seeking aadhar, mobile no, etc, many didn't opt for name transfer.    The fine of Rs  Rs 1000 for non wearing helmet is also high. As fines were imposed heavily without the knowledge of the owner of the vehicle, (Ie more than the cost of the vehicle), the vehicle owner sell the vehicle as scrap. 
So, the norms should be simplified in getting name transfer and RC, he 
pleaded.
