MoU signed to adopt 150 govt schools

The District Collector Dr. GS Sameeran chaired over a career guidance programme for plus 2 students and an event to sign an MoU with colleges to adopt 150 government schools at a function, held under the Naan Mudalvan and Kalluri Kanavu scheme at the Barathiyar University.

It was arranged by the special programmes implementation and higher education departments. The event was attended by Bharathiyar University Registrar Dr. Murugavel, Chief Education OfficerN. Geetha, Head of Extension and Career Guidance Prof. Dr. A. Vimala and many college and school teachers and students. He said the programme was more useful for students and MoU was signed to help 40 engineering and arts and science colleges of TNAU, Anna, Bharathiyar varsities to adopt 150 schools for 2 years to help the students to come up in studies and life by giving various kind of training to them. Due to the guidance of the varsities, the colleges joined the scheme within 10 days and the awards would be given to best performing colleges. 

The colleges would be monitored every month and more colleges were expected to join the adoption scheme which is first of its kind in the state. Already power minister  and education minister inaugurated 'Kanavu Meipadavendum' scheme for corporation school students. Later, he answered to the queries of students on higher education and competitive exams etc.
