Union Minister L. Murugan, BJP candidate for the Nilgiris Lok Sabha constituency, campaigned at Mallankuzhi in Thalavadi Hill on Thursday.
Earlier, BJP candidate L. Murugan had a darshan at Veereswarar temple and Thalavadi Mariamman temples in Kumtapuram village. Late, he canvassed votes from the farmers in Eraganalli village.
He said an elephant-proof fence will be etected around the forest area using railway tracks. He promised that steps will be taken to control the wild boars that invade the agricultural lands and destroy the crops.
He was engaged in collecting votes by explaining the achievements of the Modi government in 10 years in the areas of Bhainapuram, Malarkodi, Arulwadi, Bharathipuram and Arepalayam. He assured steps will be taken to provide train service from Erode to Samraj Nagar of Karnataka state via Thalavadi.
Former MLA VK Chinnaswamy, BJP District Vice President Jayaram and others participated in this program.
