While PM Modi went to attend World Climate Action Summit in Dubai, it was come to know that an Erode based lathe unit worker V Nallasamy 58, invented a fan functioning without electricity.
The main reason for climate change is the over exploitation natural resources like fossil fuel, natural resources and coal etc. So, the world is giving more thrust to non conventional energy sources which is the source of his products.
The fan which could be operated by mechanical power produced by small wheels. They could rotate due to the push and pull of a solid weight, chains and pullies. If you attach a small dynamo with it, DC power can be produced to light a bulb. The 4 kind of products of him is only models. One among the products could be used for doing daily exercise as in gym.
''If further research is made to develop the products, they can be used in factories, houses and offices without using electricity, in routine manner. The power tariff was increased many fold recently. So, the products could save huge money,'' said Nallasamy of Surampatti, Erode.
Out of his own experience in the lathe units and die making, he created the products by using the locally available materials. The products can be attached with tables, walls and beams.
''I applied for patent rights many years back. I sent the project report to the offices of the then President Kalam, PM Modi, SC, CM Jayalalithaa, and many BJP dignitaries seeking their help to further develop the products to bring them for commercial use. If the products are made in large number, the cost could come down much.
''In fact, I visited PM house in Delhi twice and CM Jayalalithaa's house once and waited for many days to meet them. Unfortunately, I didn't get even get an acknowledgement of receiving my project reports.
''The products were demonstrated in the Sengunthar, Kongu and PSG engineering colleges. Pudhiya Thalamurai TV channel showed my products with my interview. I continued my struggle for the past one decade to get government and public aid to bring out the products for the benefit of people.
''The government said "the power saved is equal to production''. My products could save millions of units of power. I even sent a suicide note to government if no help is extended. But, none responded'' Nallasamy, studied upto SSLC, rued.
In spite of his poverty, many problems in his family and lack of income, he continued his effort to innovate many more products of this kind with having many ideas.
If he gets due help, he could become another GD Naidu.
