Dr. N.G.P College of Education organized a one day National Conference on “National Education
Policy (NEP-2020)” which was held on Feb 2, for the Teacher-trainees and Teacher educators from various colleges across Tamil Nadu to enhance their perception on NEP 2020, and to have a comprehensive understanding about opportunities and challenges in Teacher Education exclusively. Dr.K.R.Ramasamy, Principal of Dr.N.G.P College of Education, welcomed. Dr. Nalla G Palaniswami, Chairman, Kovai Medical Center and Hospital delivered the Presidential Address. Dr. Thavamani D Palaniswamy, felicitated the gathering.
Then, the Keynote Address was presented by Dr. Kalpana Venugopal, Professor of Education, Regional Institute of Education (NCERT).In the First session, Dr.M.A.Sudhir, UGC Emeritus Professor, Gandhigram Rural University, shared his insight on “NEP -2020: Reflections on Teacher Education from Multi-disciplinary Context”.
Disability Inclusion
In the Second session, Prof.G.Victoria Naomi, Dean School of Education, Avinashilingam Institute for Home Science and Higher Education for Women, discussed on “Disability Inclusion in NEP- 2020”. Dr.P.R.Muthuswamy, Director of Academics, Dr.N.G.P College of Education, presented the Valedictory Address. Dr.Arun N Palaniswami, Trustee, Kovai Medical Center Research and Educational Trust, Mathura V Palaniswami, Director, Kovai Medical Center and Research and Educational Trust, Dr.O.T.Bhuvaneswaran, Chief Executive Officer of Kovai Medical Center Research and Educational Trust and Dr.M.Natesan, Senior Administrator also participated. Mrs. M.S.Bhuvaneswari, Organising Secretary, Dr.N.G.P College of Education, proposed the vote of thanks.
