National Librarians' Day celebrated at Avinashilingam Institute

The Library of Avinashilingam Institute for Home Science and Higher Education for Women, on the occasion of National Librarians' Day and the 133rd Birth Anniversary of Dr. S. R. Ranganathan (Father of Library Science in India), organised The Book Hunt: Author's Clue Challenge - Solve the Clues and Find the Book.
The celebration and prize distribution ceremony were held at the Multipurpose Hall on 12 August 2025. Dr. T. Thilagavathi, Assistant Librarian (SG), welcomed the gathering. Dr. Sashi Prabha Jain, Dean, School of Arts and Social Sciences, addressed the audience.
Dr. K. Mahalakshmi, Assistant Librarian (SS), spoke about Dr. S. R. Ranganathan's contributions and his introduction of the Five Laws of Library Science, which brought transformative changes to the field. Mrs. J. Geetha, Information Scientist, introduced the distinguished guest speaker, Dr. M. Mandhirasalam, Librarian, Dean (ARRA), IQAC Coordinator, Coimbatore Institute of Technology. 
The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Mrs. V. Sumathy, Assistant Librarian, School of Education.
