National Mathematics Day observed with Inter Collegiate Symposium

The Department of Mathematics for Excellence of SIMATS School of Engineering organized a one day National Level Intercollegiate Technical Symposium on the occasion of National Mathematics Day to recognize the illustrious Indian mathematician Srinivasa Ramanujan's birth anniversary.

The event was presided over by Prof. Dr. Ramajayam Sahadevan, a former CSIR emeritus scientist, former UGC emeritus fellow, former Dean of Research at the University of Madras, and former Director and Head of the Ramanujan Institute.

He gave a motivational speech about the significance of Mathematics Day and briefed on the scope of mathematics for future. More than 200 participants from different colleges in Tamil Nadu who took part in both Technical and Non-Technical events. Medals and cash prizes were given to the winners in recognition of their outstanding efforts.
