A team of students of Electrical and Electronic Engineering Department of Erode Nandha College of Technology (NCT) won Rs 1 lakh cash prize for their innovation at the Smart India Hackathon 2022 competition arranged by the Union Ministry of Education to encourage engineering students to come out with innovations, in Gujarat recently.
The competition was held at national level in various rounds on behalf of 75 Innovation Forums functioning in specific colleges across India. 30000 groups had registered for the event and 3,000 groups came out with various new types of engineering and technological inventions.
About 15000 students participated through these groups and presented their works before judges. In this, the first prize and a prize money of Rs. 1 lakh was awarded to the new work submitted on behalf of the group of students of the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering of Nandha College of Technology. The college Chairman V. Shanmugan, Secretaries S. Nandakumar Pradeep, S. Thirumurthy, CEO S. Arumugam, and Principal C Nandagopal appreciated the teachers and students.
