Necessary arrangements made ahead of Chitra Pournami festival

The district administration has been carrying out various preparatory works ahead of Chitra Pournami festival that falls on May 11. It is to ensure that the festival takes place smoothly without causing inconvenience to the devotees.
District collector K Tharpagaraj on Tuesday inspected the Rajagopuram and Girivalam route around the Arulmigu Arunachaleswarar temple in the district. He was accompanied by SP M Sudhakar, district revenue officer I Ram Pradeepan, tahsildar Rajkumar and other officials.
Following the directions to remove encroachments on the roads leading from Rajagopuram area to the Girivalm route, corporation officials have been taking necessary steps to remove encroachments and clear the path.
Necessary arrangements have been made to set up drinking water facilities, medical camps, toilet facilities and emergency vehicles at the temple premises.
To facilitate the arrival of devotees, temporary bus services and special trains will be operated from 20 places. Food security department has granted permission to provide Annadanam at temple premises.
“All government departments are working together to ensure a smooth and safe Chitra Pournami festival. All the necessary arrangements have been made so that devotees can visit the temple without any difficulty and go to Girivalam,” said the collector.
