Nilgiris District Collector Lakshmi Bhavya Thanneru conducted an inspection at the Vagapanai tribal village in the Senkarai panchayat of Kotagiri. During her visit, she engaged with the tribal residents to understand their concerns about basic amenities, and she personally inspected the condition of the roads.
The Collector emphasised the importance of seeking medical attention during pregnancies and inquired about the availability of essential documents such as caste certificates and ration cards. She also asked the villagers if they were receiving provisions from the ration shops as expected.
In terms of infrastructure development, she assured the villagers that the road from Kootata to Vagapanai would be improved, and a walkway would be constructed for easier access. Additionally, she mentioned plans to enhance the village's buildings and encouraged the community to support their children's pursuit of higher education.
The inspection was attended by Additional Collector Koushik, Kotagiri Block Development Officer Vijaya, and Senkarai Panchayat President Murugan.
