Nilgiris Collector M Aruna visited Kinnakorai village in the Udhagai Panchayat Union to inspect organic farming work on behalf of the Horticulture and Plantation Crops department on June 28. During her visit, she engaged in conversations with local organic farmers, discussing the latest trends and challenges in organic farming.
Collector Aruna also inspected the usage of various agricultural tools provided by the government, including tea harvesters, brush cutters, diggers, and wood chippers, which were funded at a cost of Rs. 72 lakhs. Additionally, she inquired about the beneficiaries' experiences and the tea varieties being produced through the Functional Infrastructure scheme.
The inspection was attended by Horticulture Deputy Director Nagarajan, Horticulture Assistant Director Anitha, Head of Organic Agriculture Subramani, Kundha Tahsildhar Kalaiselvi, and other government officials.
