Nilgiris Collector inspects solid waste management works

The Nilgiris District Collector Lakshmi Bhavya Thanneeru inspected the solid waste management works in Otupattarai area under Coonoor Municipality.
It has a Resource Recovery Center, sorting solid waste management works and the Biodegradable Waste Processing Center with garbage and composting works. Coonoor Municipal Compost has an area of ​​11.10 acres. Waste composting has been started in 2020-2021 and 2021-2022. Clean Coonoor, a private charitable organization, is carrying out separate processing of biodegradable and non-biodegradable waste. Biodegradable waste is about 8 tons per day is processed.
During this inspection, Coonoor Revenue Commissioner Mr. Satish, Coonoor Municipal Commissioner Mrs. Sasikala, Municipal Engineer Mr. Velusamy, Coonoor District Commissioner Mr. Kanisundaram and many volunteers were present.
