Nilgiris Collector inspects the decorated pedestrian walkway

Nilgiris Collector inspects the decorated pedestrian walkway

Nilgiris District Collector Lakshmi Bhavya Thanneru inspected the newly decorated pedestrian walkway between Chairing Cross and Casino Junction in Ooty on September 5. Speaking to the media, the collector highlighted the increasing number of tourists visiting the Nilgiris, particularly Ooty, from Tamil Nadu and other parts of the world. The collector noted that many tourists often visit the shops along this popular stretch, but the parked vehicles make it difficult for them to walk safely.
To address this issue, the district administration has created a 400-metre-long pedestrian walkway, beautifully decorated, to ensure tourists can walk comfortably and safely between the shops.
The inspection event was attended by District Superintendent of Police NS Nisha, Additional Superintendent of Police Soundararajan, Ooty Revenue Officer Maharaj, Ooty Tahsildar Saravanakumar, and other government officials.
