Nilgiris Collector M Aruna conducted inspections at various check posts across the district to oversee the implementation of government directives regarding tourist movements.
This initiative comes in response to a recent ruling by the Madras High Court, mandating that all tourists visiting Nilgiris and Kodaikanal must register for an e-pass, effective from May 7 to June 30.
During her visit, the Collector inspected check posts located at key points such as Mettupalayam Thoori Paalam and the Kotagiri-Mettupalayam roads.
She reviewed the operations conducted by government officials from the police, revenue, urban development, and Highway departments to ensure compliance with the e-pass procedures.
Accompanied by District Superintendent of Police Sundaravadivel, Additional Collector Koushik, and Revenue Officer Govindan, the Collector diligently assessed the effectiveness of the measures being implemented at the check posts.
