Nilgiris Collector offers welfare fund to 13 tribal families to buy land

Nilgiris Collector M Aruna provided a cheque worth Rs. 5.98 lakhs to 13 tribal families as a welfare fund to help them purchase residential land on July 1. The ceremony took place at the district collector's office.

The families, belonging to Koppaiyur tribal village in Kadinamala Panchayat, Kotagiri region, each received Rs. 46,000 from the Srinivasa Charitable Trust based in Chennai. Additionally, through the PM Janman scheme, steps will be taken to assist these tribal families in building houses.

The event was attended by Additional Collector Koushik, Kotagiri Tahsildar Gomathi, administrators from the Srinivasa Charitable Trust, and other government officers.
