Nilgiris collector pays tribute to a woman’s body who donated her organs

Nilgiris Collector M Aruna paid tribute on behalf of the Tamil Nadu government to a woman who donated her organs at Udhagai Government Medical College and Hospital on July 12. The woman, Emily, 63, from Mary’s Hill, donated her liver to Ramakrishna Hospital, kidneys to KMCH Hospital, and eyes to Sankara Eye Hospital.

Speaking to the press, the district collector said, “I would like to appreciate the family members of Emily for donating her organs to hospitals. Due to this organ donation, six people can benefit. This is also the first organ donation done by Udhagai Government Medical College and Hospital.”

Udhagai Government College and Hospital Principal Gitanjali, Udhagai Tahsildar Saravanakumar, doctors, and other government officials were present at the hospital.
